DescriptionCertificate III in Business reflects the varied roles of individuals across different industry sectors who apply a broad range of competencies using some discretion, judgment and relevant theoretical knowledge. The Certificate III in Business endeavours to continue to build upon the skills and knowledge that you currently have in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. By applying business practices to those skills you will gain a solid foundation for your future career or study aspirations. You will learn the basics behind integrating into the modern business world that is driven by team work and communication in a diverse environment. You will also learn practical skills in areas of organising and prioritising work tasks, as well as how to design and produce business documents and publications.
PathwaysAfter achieving the Certificate III in Business, individuals could progress to BSB50215 Diploma of Business, or to Certificate IV qualifications in other business industry fields or commence work in an office environment.
Entry RequirementsThere are no prerequisites for this course.
Other RequirementsStudents will be issued with a VET Uniform which must be worn at all times. Students are required to bring writing equipment, (i.e. pens and pencils etc.),and a laptop to every session. Student ID Cards must be carried at all times and they must be willing to participate in both theory and practical workshops. Approximately 40 hours Work Placement in a business environment is a compulsory component of this program. Students must seek their own placements. However some support will be provided.

Students are not expected to attend on school or public holidays however they are required to attend on student free days unless advised otherwise. The Orientation session is on February 6th 2020 is COMPULSORY and counts as one of the 33 sessions.
Work Placement5 days
A minimum of 5 days is expected. Students are required to demonstrate competencies and get them signed off in their log books when undertaking their Structured Work Placements. Some competencies may be signed off after work undertaken during simulated tasks.

495 Nominal Hours. The Certificate III qualification can be used as a student’s 4th TAS subject to achieve an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) and apply to University.

Enclosed shoes are required and need to be purchased before the commencement of the course. These shoes must be worn to every session and students may wish to purchase a NASSSA jacket as part of their uniform, costing approximately $41. Until this occurs students can only wear their own ‘Home School Jumpers’.
Cost NotesDepartment for Education Non-NASSSA students enrolling will incur a $250.00 additional Administration fee (Full year course – pro rata for semester/term courses). Non-Department for Education students enrolling will incur a $1,000.00 administration fee. (Full year course – pro rata for semester/term courses) Enrolments for both these groups of students MUST be done through the WebVET Administrator.

Orientation DetailsA COMPULSORY Orientation Session will be conducted at Playford International College at 8:50am – 12:00pm on Thursday February 6th 2020, (Week 2, Term 1).
Public TransportBoth the Elizabeth Bus Exchange and the Elizabeth Train Station are only a few minutes walk from the College where a wide range of bus and train routes are easily accessible.
