Course Description | This qualification is intended for students interested in exposure to an engineering or related working environment with a view to entering employment in that area. This qualification will equip graduates with knowledge and skills which will enhance their prospects of employment in an engineering or related working environment. |
Pathways | Students enrolling in this course should be interested in a pathway to a Fabrication or Mechanical apprenticeship and therefore may undertake Certificate III in Engineering. |
Entry Requirements | There are no training package entry requirements for this qualification.
Basic literacy and numeracy skills are essential. |
Other Requirements | Basic stationery every lesson (Pens, Pencil, Ruler, Scientific Calculator etc.)
PPE – Safety boots, Long Trousers (Navy blue cotton drill), Long Sleeved top (High Visibility)

Dates and Times | 30 weekly sessions at Parafield Gardens High School on Wednesdays from 08:40 until 15:30. Commencement date 03/02/21. Orientation session will occur on the first day of training. |
Work Placement | There are no work placement requirements for this course There is no compulsory work placement. |
SACE Details | SACE Stage 1, 30 SACE credits 230 Nominal Hours.
Actual credits granted to the student is dependent on the units of competency completed by the student toward the qualification. |

Training Cost | $2,500.00 including GST TGSS funding is available to eligible students. There will be a gap fee of $400 for TGSS students, this is for materials and resources. |
Other Costs | None Students must provide their own long trousers (Navy blue cotton drill) and steel cap boots.
HiVis shirts will be provided by PEER and safety glass will be supplied by Parafield Gardens High School. |
Cost Notes | Department for Education Non-NASSSA students enrolling will incur a $50.00 additional Administration fee (Full year course – pro rata for semester/term courses). Non-Department for Education students enrolling will incur a $250.00 administration fee. (Full year course – pro rata for semester/term courses) Enrolments for both these groups of students MUST be done through the WebVET Administrator. |
