Course Descriptiona. Technical skills learnt to a standard of performance expected in a workplace: learning to work with a range of plumbing and roof plumbing materials. Operating and using equipment and hand tools commonly used in the plumbing and roof plumbing industry. b. Employability skills you will need to work with others or in teams, as well as on your own; you will need to feel comfortable talking to a range of different people (communication) whilst doing your work and standing for extended periods of time; skills include Communication, Teamwork, Problem solving, Initiative and enterprise, Planning and organising, Self-management, Learning, Technology] c. Capabilities: students need to come with strong numeracy and literacy skills; enjoyment of outdoors and preparedness to work in all weather conditions d. Proportion of theory to practical: this course has 60% practical activity and 40 % theory e. Assessment tasks; Students will be assessed predominantly on their ability to complete practical tasks, other methods of assessment will include written assessments and verbal questioning. f. Students will be expected to attend class in appropriate work drill, long pants and long sleeves, Safety boots and safety glasses. This reflects current industry expectations.
PathwaysThis program is a pathway to a career in plumbing and roof plumbing. All competencies are related to building and construction and can lead to employment in a range of building and construction related disciplines.

Cost NotesDepartment for Education Non-NASSSA students enrolling will incur a $250.00 additional Administration fee (Full year course – pro rata for semester/term courses). Non-Department for Education students enrolling will incur a $1,000.00 administration fee. (Full year course – pro rata for semester/term courses) Enrolments for both these groups of students MUST be done through the WebVET Administrator at Paralowie R-12 School.
