Course DescriptionCertificate III in Business reflects the varied roles of individuals across different industry sectors who apply a broad range of competencies using some discretion, judgment and relevant theoretical knowledge. The Certificate III in Business endeavours to continue to build upon the skills and knowledge that you currently have in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. By applying business practices to those skills you will gain a solid foundation for your future career or study aspirations. You will learn the basics behind integrating into the modern business world that is driven by team work and communication in a diverse environment. You will also learn practical skills in areas of organising and prioritising work tasks, as well as how to design and produce business documents and publications.
PathwaysAfter achieving the Certificate III in Business, individuals could progress to BSB50215 Diploma of Business, or to Certificate IV qualifications in other business industry fields or commence work in an office environment.
Entry RequirementsThere are no prerequisites for this course.
Other RequirementsStudents are required to bring writing equipment, (i.e. pens and pencils etc.),and a laptop to every session. Students will be issued with a Regional Student Lanyard on arrival at the College and this must be worn at all times. Students must wear their own home school uniform and remain on site all day after arrival. A Food Truck will arrive on site during breaks enabling students to purchase food and drinks if required.

This course will occur at Northern Adelaide Senior College but be administered by Playford International College. Car parking is available from the Woodford Road side of the Northern Adelaide Senior College.
Dates and Times33 weekly sessions at Northern Adelaide Senior College on Tuesdays from 08:45 until 15:00.
Commencement date 02/02/21.
Students are not expected to attend on school or public holidays however they are required to attend on student free days unless advised otherwise.
Work Placement5 days
Approximately 40 hours Work Placement in a business environment is a compulsory component of this program. Students must seek their own placements however some support will be provided. Students are required to demonstrate competencies and get them signed off in their log books when undertaking their Structured Work Placements. Some competencies may be signed off after work undertaken during simulated tasks.

495 Nominal Hours. The Certificate III qualification can be used as a student’s 4th Tertiary Admission Subject to achieve an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) and apply to University.

Student’s must wear their own school uniform to this course. Enclosed shoes are required and need to be purchased before the commencement of the course. These shoes must be worn to every session. Students may wish to purchase a NASSSA jacket as part of their uniform, costing approximately $41.These jackets are available for purchase from the Playford International College Finance Office.
Cost NotesDepartment for Education Non-NASSSA students enrolling will incur a $50.00 additional Administration fee (Full year course – pro rata for semester/term courses). Non-Department for Education students enrolling will incur a $250.00 administration fee. (Full year course – pro rata for semester/term courses) Enrolments for both these groups of students MUST be done through the WebVET Administrator.

Orientation DetailsCourse orientation occurs during the first training session.
Public TransportBoth the Elizabeth Bus Exchange and the Elizabeth Train Station are only a few minutes walk from the College where a wide range of bus and train routes are easily accessible.
