Course Description | What they will be doing in the course:
a. Students learn about responding to emergencies and First Aid. They will complete a First Aid certificate
b. Students will need to complete theory components including using Microsoft word, PowerPoint and Excel.
c. Students will complete a coaching certificate online and a Safe Workplace Practices certificate online
d. Students will be required to design a lesson plan for a sport of their choice to be taught to the rest of the class
e. Students will learn about sports injuries and taping techniques.
f. Students will learn about the Sport and Recreation industry and possible career pathways
g. Student will maintain an online assessment folder. All of the assessment tasks will need to be kept organised and completed and submitted by the due date.
h. Class will need to take responsibility of organisation of practical lessons. They are expected to join in practical lessons with minimal instruction. |
Pathways | Likely functions for someone with this qualification can include providing support in the provision of sport and recreation programs, grounds and facilities maintenance, routine housekeeping, retail and customer service assistance, administrative assistance or bar and café service in locations such as fitness centre, outdoor sporting grounds or complexes or aquatic centres. |

Other Requirements | Students are required to bring a book for taking notes, something to write with and their Chromebook. |

Training Cost | $1,500.00 including GST Training cost applies to external students.
TGSS is not applicable as the course is delivered by a teacher trainer. |

Students will be expected to wear their Parafield Gardens High School uniform. |
Cost Notes | Department for Education Non-NASSSA students enrolling will incur a $250.00 additional Administration fee (Full year course – pro rata for semester/term courses). Non-Department for Education students enrolling will incur a $1,000.00 administration fee. (Full year course – pro rata for semester/term courses) Enrolments for both these groups of students MUST be done through the WebVET Administrator at Paralowie R-12 School. |
